Harvesting Sets/Collections in DSpace using the OAI-PMH Harvester

Hello,

I need to harvest DSpace collection and its records from DSpace 5.2 in order to import them to another tool. Using the OAI-PMH Data Provider I am being able to harvest only the records without being able to harvest the collection found under Sets (http://demo.dspace.org/oai/request?verb=ListSets). How can I export the collection using the harvester in order to be able to import it like the records?

Hi

You can harvest records by set/collection but I don't believe you can harvest information about one or more collections. You would need to manually set up corresponding collections in your DSpace instance.

Hello Layale,

one can only harvest the metadata of items not those of sets in terms of
OAI-PMH.
Sets are there to group items for selective harvesting see:
https://www.openarchives.org/OAI/openarchivesprotocol.html#Set

The collections in an DSpace instance are turned automatically to sets
(you may configure other sets based on filters).
Thus you are able to harvest all the items from a specific collection.
But you may not harvest the metadata of the collection itself.
