Move items from one collection to another but retain handles

Hi all,

DSpace 4.1
Tomcat7
Apache 2
RHEL 6

I want to move the items of collection A into collection B and then delete collection A. Is this possible whilst still retaining the original handles to the items? And when I move the items, do they inherit the authorisations of collection B or do they retain collection A's permissions?

Hello Gary,

you can move items as admin via the move item feature in the UI.
There you can choose whether they should retain their permissions or
inherit new ones

I think in moving using batch metadata editing they retain their
permissions.
