  1. We created the Group = OK.
  2. We create the Collection and link it to the Group = OK.
  3. We created the Item (With Attachment) = OK
  4. The already created item goes to Approval or Refusal = OK
  5. When we approve the item, it does not approve and returns to the initial state of "approve or reject".

What could be causing this problem?

Perhaps you have a multi-step workflow set up? We have a two-step workflow, so two approvals are required before it goes live.

Debora and friends, where and how can I change the steps (Configuration file, database, etc.) to remove the need for approval (Automatic approval)? or reduce the number of steps? We're not finding where or how to do this.

We are using the DSpace 7.6 default (We didn't even know it had these step options). No one can add any items, as they don't get past the approval phase.

Hi,

You can customize which Collections require an approval workflow on the Edit Collection page.  Any collections having "Editors", "Final Editors" or "Reviewers" will require an approval phase.  If all three are specified, then that is a 3 step workflow.  If just one is specified, then it's a 1-step workflow.  See screenshots at https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Edit+Collection#EditCollection-AssignRoles

The workflow steps themselves can be customized as well, but it's a complex process that requires managing XML configuration files.  Chances are you have not done this.  But, if you want to know how it's done, see the documentation at https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Configurable+Workflow

If none of this helps or you still are having problems, you should make sure to check for possible underlying errors.  Those errors can tell us what is going wrong.  To find them, use our troubleshooting guide: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSPACE/Troubleshoot+an+error#Troubleshootanerror-DSpace7.x(orabove)

Considering the 3 steps,
How do I validate all three in the system?
Ex.:
1. Add Group, Collection and item
2. Then I access the menu... and click on "approve"?
3. Then do I need to go to the xxx menu and click on "re-approve"?
4. Then I access another menu and click confirm?

Because I am almost certain that we are not agreeing on the necessary places to carry out the necessary approval, review and approval.

Is there a manual with step-by-step documentation, with images (preferably)?
