Media viewer and restrictions

Hello,

I am writing to ask about the current status or any recent developments regarding the Media Viewer in DSpace 7 (and newer versions). Specifically concerning access-restricted files.

Currently, we have noted that the Media Viewer’s functionality is limited when bitstreams are restricted. We are interested to know if there are any plans to make this feature available for restricted files.

If there are any relevant tickets, pull requests, or discussions on this topic that you could point me toward, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Johannes,

A ticket already exists for this issue at https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/issues/1887

Currently, it's been waiting on a volunteer developer for some time.  So, I'm not aware of anyone making progress on this issue yet.
