Hello all,

Complete noob. Searched the group but nada came my way. I've looked at the Troubleshoot an error page and a couple others and can't find my path forward for the next step in the frontend install. I'm stuck on 4a.

[root@localhost dspace-angular]# yarn config:check:rest
yarn run v1.22.17
error Command "config:check:rest" not found.

...and just like that I'm on an island and can't swim. I'm running on a Centos 8/Almalinux 8 VM in VirtualBox and got the backend up and running after much pulling and tugging. I'm hoping I didn't shoot myself in the proverbial foot there. I figured let me take my time in a VM before I move over the the server that IT dropped on my desk at the office for my 'testing' because they can't do it and I volunteered.

Here is a screenshot of my config file. No SSL. Localhost. Standard /server location.

The backend up and running (as far as I know) screenshot:

Yarn is working I'd suggest as I did do step 3 - yarn install - with no issue I think.

I'm so lost.

Hi Lisle,

It's not your mistake!  It appears you found a typo in our Installation instructions!

In DSpace 7.1 this command was named "yarn config:check:rest".

HOWEVER, in DSpace 7.2, its name was changed to simply "yarn test:rest".... and we forgot to update this part of the docs.  I'll get that fixed right away!  Thanks for pointing this out.

But, feel free to run "yarn test:rest" if you wish to test the connection to the backend before you proceed with your installation.

Tim,

Thanks for your response. The journey through your instructions now continues... if you need a noob to test. I'd happily volunteer to do VM testing and provide feedback.

Tim,

Just a heads up. The troubleshooting page needs a similar update.

Thanks! Just fixed the instructions in that section of the page as well.
