Overriding 'webui.browse.index' options. How to remove 'browse by author'?

I am setting up an archive for the works of a single author.
So there is no need to 'browse by author',
and I'd like to remove that browse option, by overriding the defaults in
local.cfg.
I'm wondering how that override will work, since the default has 4 options,
and my override will have only 3 options.

In other words, what is the best way to remove 'browse by author' from
my site's browse options?
