Newbie Question: DSpace Docker 7 failing on Item Submission in DSpace Angular Browser

Hello,

I was able to get the DSpace 7 Docker container up and running on an Ubuntu Linux instance. I then used the browser interface from http://locahost:4000 to create a community and collection. I now want to submit an item using New/Item. When I browse select a file and then click Open, the upload consistently fails. What do I need to do to get the Item browse/upload working?

Hi Gerry,

Apologies, but this is a known bug... we accidentally broke file upload recently but are working on fixing it in this in-progress PR https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/pull/1024  As we are in very active development, these sorts of temporary breakages may occur at times.  I'm hopeful this one will be fixed this week, if all goes well.

In the meantime, you could apply that PR to get the basics working again.  It's not quite ready to merge yet though.

Quick note...this uploading files bug has now been fixed in the latest "main" branch of the Angular UI, as the previously mentioned PR was merged today: https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/pull/1024

So, anyone affected by this should simply ensure you are running the latest code (ideally for both the UI and REST API).
