Mirage2 item-list.xsl

I see that when a list of items is created via brosse by title, I can only see the thumbnail section of the mets file.  In item-view.xsl I have access to the CONTENT section.  Why is it that in the list view, I don't seem to have access to the CONTENT section, only the THUMBNAIL?
