If an item comes into a workflow - how are the people assigned to that task notified?  Do they have to login or does the system send them an email notification?

There are some things we would like a department to "validate" but they may only get a couple submissions a year.  How would they know to go in and look at them?

Thanks

Hi David,
DSpace sends an e-mail notification to everyone who has the permissions
to act on that workflow task.

cheers,
Andrea

Hello DSpace Community,

I would like to know if it's possible to customize the notification system in DSpace 7 so that approvers receive notifications in the following scenarios:

  1. When a submission is rejected at any stage of the workflow.
  2. When a submission is approved and moves from one workflow step to another.

Currently, the system only notifies the submitter upon rejection and sends a notification to approvers only when a submission enters the workflow. I would like approvers to be kept informed throughout the entire workflow process, including rejections and transitions between workflow steps.

Has anyone implemented such customizations or can provide guidance on how to achieve this?

Thank you for your assistance.
