Dear DSpace Community,

The DSpace Committers are delighted to announce a new member to the team: Stefano Maffei from 4Science. Please join us in welcoming him!

Stefano is a Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead at 4Science. He has been working with DSpace since 2021, initially working on DSpace/DSpace-CRIS 5 and subsequently supporting the platform through its evolution across later major releases. Throughout this period, he has been actively involved in the design, development, and maintenance of repository solutions for a wide range of institutions.

As part of his work within the DSpace ecosystem, Stefano has contributed to several significant features and initiatives, including support for COAR Notify and the Audit Trail functionality. He has also been an active contributor to the DSpace codebase through bug fixes, enhancements, feature development, code reviews, and community discussions. His experience with repository platforms and his continued engagement with the project makes him a valuable addition to the DSpace Committers team.

We are always on the lookout for new developers, contributors, and committers within the DSpace community.
Contributions can take many forms: writing code, reviewing or testing others' code, helping on mailing lists, editing documentation, or improving the theme/usability/accessibility of our user interface. For more information, see our guide about contributing to DSpace.

If you or someone you know has been an active DSpace contributor for some time, you can also nominate that person to become our next committer! Nomination details and more information on committer responsibilities are available at: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/spaces/DSPACE/pages/27001917/Committer+Nominations   If you have any questions about committership or contributing to DSpace, please reach out to one of the current DSpace Committers or join our weekly developer meetings.

Thanks,

Tim Donohue, on behalf of the DSpace Committers Group
