Hi,

Is there current work or are there plans to work on the functionality of
the <visibility> tag in submission-forms.xml in DSpace 7?

It allows you to make fields visible in a specific scope, e.g. during
submission or during workflow. For example, we use this functionality
for fields which are only used by our library staff, or which require
different configurations for a field during submission and workflow.

It would be great to hear back from institutions that are also
interested in this function and either work on it or would like to see
it in DSpace 7.

Best regards
Franziska

Hi Franziska,

I believe the "<visibility>" tags should (mostly) work in DSpace 7... However we did recently find a bug in DSpace 7.2 regarding their behavior.  This bug was fixed in the UI in this PR: https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/pull/1524   The fix will be released in 7.3 (due in June), but you could also apply it locally using the changes in that PR.

Thank you Tim, we will try this out.
