Issue with accented characters, diacritics from external authority web service

Dear all,

I am using a modified version of TGNAuthority from https://github.com/4Science/DSpace/blob/dspace-cris-6RC/dspace-api/src/main/java/org/dspace/content/authority/TGNAuthority.java. I just modified it to work with version DSpace version 7 and 8. When using the 6x version, I have no issues with accented characters, as shown in the image below.

However, in my modified version for 7x, Tomcat fails to display the accented characters properly, as shown below.

I have set the URIEncoding="UTF-8" in Tomcat's connector port in server.xml. Is there a way to display the accented characters properly since the parameters of the search URL were already URL encoded to UTF-8?
