Greetings,
LYRASIS is excited to announce that Natalie Baur will be joining DSpace as the Program Coordinator.
Natalie brings a depth of experience in project management, developing outreach avenues, and working with diverse communities.
Natalie is currently the Program Director for the Digital Preservation Outreach and Education Network. Natalie’s previous positions include Operations Manager for Library Juice Academy and Digital Preservation Librarian for the Biblioteca Daniel Cosio Villegas, El Colegio De Mexico. Natalie served as a Fulbright García-Robles Fellow at Instituto de Investigaciones Bibliotecológicas y de la Información, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, investigating the role of archival knowledge employed in digital preservation strategies in a variety of Mexican institutions.
Natalie has conducted workshops extensively throughout Latin American and the Caribbean including Aruba, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, and Suriname. She also served as an Adjunct Professor at Escuela Nacional De Conservación, Restauración, y Museología, Mexico City. She is fluent in Spanish and has language skills in Portuguese, French and German.
In this new role, Natalie will serve as a liaison to the DSpace governance, service providers, software developers and other stakeholders. She will coordinate outreach, support fundraising, and assist the technical lead in planning and coordination efforts.
This position is funded thanks to our generous fundraising pledges via SCOSS. Natalie’s role will be critical to the growth of DSpace. This is currently a part time position (10-15 hours a week), but it will grow as we gain additional support.
Natalie will officially join the DSpace team on September 6th.
Please join us in welcoming Natalie to her new role in LYRASIS and the DSpace community!
