I am using Dspace 5.2 version in Windows 2003 server - We are The Master administrator id and password only to create Community and collection, As we are not using any email system, only Master Administrator id and password is used for Administer functions.

We create one community and collections in the community

We are having a csv file having one of the column (second) as the collection number.

The option for import meta data is visible only in community page - The Administer option (Import meta data) is not shown, when we go to collection option.

When we import the csv file, it is going to Community data base - Even though number is showing in collection, when we open it, it says "Internal system error"

Please inform me where we are doing mistake ? If any body wants any more detail, please send me the mail.

Your early reply will help us most.

Yours

Hi. It is impossible to add new items by csv import. Metadata import is only for edit existing items, not to add new.

It's possible. Use "+" as value in the "id" column of your new row.

Yes.

Batch Metadata Editor doesn't yet work with bitstreams. You might want
to look at SAFBuilder

Mr. helix84 and others

When I am importing the csv file by "+" in id column, and "collection id" column - the collection number correctly, it is uploading only in community and not in the collection, where I want.

Another problem is, when I am log in as Administrator, I am able to go to only community, when I am going to collection, the import through csv is not enabled.   Can you please clarify this.  As I need help very urgently, your early reply will be very much helpful to me

"+" can only be used in the "id" column, not the "collection" column. The collection column must always contain an ID of an existing collection.

In XMLUI, it's in Administrative - Content Administration - Import Metadata.

Please note that GUI places a limit on the number of items changed during each import. The limit can be changed here:
