Hi,

Self registration should be enabled by default if you are using the "PasswordAuthentication" plugin (also enabled by default).  See the "user.registration" configuration described here: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Authentication+Plugins#AuthenticationPlugins-AuthenticationbyPassword

DSpace can be made available on the internet by following the Install Guide. It will require setting up HTTPS Support on both the backend & frontend. See the final step of each in the Installation guide: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Installing+DSpace
