Hi there, i'am having problem to get the search snippet from the text that been extracted in dspace 8.

The word in the pdf can be search and the search result succesfully shown the list of document that have the word in it. But the snippet is not shown. But if i copy all the document/pdf  text and add it by copy and paste to the abstract it will show the snippet that contain in the abstract.

Where does i need to check. Any setting to set the fulltext snippet to works? i check highlighting is successfully shown in the solr query.

Please help me.

Dear Muhamad Yazid Shah,
I know that highlighting on pdf can be done by IIIF. and that needs to be enabled, and configured.
Can you share some pictures what you want to achieve?

Hi Gunes, I don't need the highlighting in pdf right now. what I need now is to show the search snippet to show base from the text that been extracted. Right now when search, the fulltext snippet is not shown.

Hi Mohamad Yazid Shah,
That is the default behaviour. Fulltexts are saved in a separate file. Its contents are indexed by SOLR engine. So when you search a term, Dspace lists the item. But it cannot show the place of the term. That is possible on metadata fields, but not in bitstream contents.
If you want similar result on pdfs, you should consider implementing IIIF. I attach a screenshot of what it would be like with IIIF
