Hi everyone,

I need assistance with an issue in DSpace 7.6.2 where the requested file(s) are not being attached to the email users receive after the Help Desk approves a “Request a Copy”

Below is a sample of the email being sent (note that the attachment is missing):

-----------------------------

Your request for a copy of the file(s) from the below document has been approved by Help Desk.  You may find the requested file(s) attached.

Harnessing the Potential of Nigeria’s Herbal Medicines: the Role of Government Agencies and Standardisation
------------------------------------------------
My challenge: "files are not being attached"

Has anyone encountered a similar issue or can suggest where I should look to resolve this (e.g., mail configuration, request copy workflow, or permissions)?

Thank you for your support.

Hi,

If you are still hitting this issue, I'd recommend checking your DSpace logs for errors when you perform a "Request for Copy".  It's possible the file attachment is erroring out for some reason.  It could be a misconfiguration, or maybe it's a specific file which is too large to attach via email?   If it's the latter, as of DSpace 9.0, we have a new feature to allow "Request a Copy" to send a *secure link* to the file instead of attaching it to the email.  See the "request.item.grant.link" and "request.item.grant.link.filesize" (and similar settings) in our DSpace 9 docs at https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC9x/Request+a+Copy

So, if the issue is that the file is too large to attach, then you might want to schedule an upgrade to DSpace 9 so that you can use this new feature.
