Submission Form - controlled input values

Hi! 

Is there a way to only allow certain formats of values to be available when doing a submission? For example, for the field "Page Range" i want the user to only be able to put numbers in this format "xxx-xxx" (where x is any number).
Is there a feature to do this? I'm currently working with Dspace 6.3

Hi Agustín,

 

The feature isn’t available in DSpace 6.x as far as I’m aware of, but it is available in DSpace 7 by using the regex element:

Hi Sean,

Kim Shepherd told me something similar in Slack so I've researched "regex" validation a little bit and it's seems like it could be the solution to my problem. I'm going to try to backport it to Dspace 6, but if I can't make it work I may migrate to Dspace 7. The only reason why I didn't do it before is that I needed the type-bind feature and now with 7.3 seems to be available.
