Hi all,

We are currently using DSpace-CRIS 6.3. The Subscribe function is visible here, but unfortunately, it is not working.

Upon searching on Google, I discovered that the Email Subscriptions feature is only available in version 7.5 and later.

Therefore, can I confirm whether DSpace-CRIS 6.3 supports Email Subscriptions? If it does, can I have the manual on setting it up?

Thank you.

Hello,

DSpace-CRIS and DSpace are separate systems. At this time they do not have a common roadmap or a common release numbering scheme.

DSpace-CRIS is an open-source product created/maintained by 4Science with support from other DSpace-CRIS users.  https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSPACECRIS/
DSpace-CRIS is based on DSpace but includes a number of additional/modified features that are necessary for CRIS systems.

DSpace is an open-source product created/maintained by the DSpace global community (and stewarded by Lyrasis).  https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSPACE/
DSpace's governance and development processes are entirely community/volunteer based with no single institution controlling the software. (4Science is also a contributing service provider for DSpace, but only one of many.)

Overall, the differences you are noting are because features are not identical between DSpace and DSpace-CRIS.  In some situations, DSpace may get a feature before DSpace-CRIS. In other situations, DSpace-CRIS may get a feature before DSpace.  So, it's important to make sure you are checking the correct documentation for any specific feature.

(NOTE: I'm not involved in DSpace-CRIS, so I don't know the answer to your specific problem.  But, hopefully others on this list can provide you with advice or help on your DSpace-CRIS question. Or you can contact 4Science more directly if you need more immediate help.)

Hi.
For us it's different. The subscribe button works, but when adding a new item, no email notification is received.
