request a copy feature in DSpace 7

Currently, a successful request for a restricted bitstream results in a copy of that bitstream emailed to the requestor as an attachment.  Our email system, like many I would guess, has a size limit on attachments, which results in failure to grant the request.

The documentation for DSpace 7 Request a Copy still refers to the version 6 docs.  Does anybody know if version 7 will handle this differently from earlier versions?

Hi Bill,

The quick answer here is that Request a Copy doesn't yet exist in DSpace 7.  It's not scheduled until the 7.1 release, as we chose to delay some (less often used) features to get 7.0 out more rapidly.  Here's the ticket for it: https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/issues/779

At this time though, we've not planned for any significant changes in functionality between v6 and v7.  That could change though, but we won't be discussing this feature until 7.1 is in development.
