Hi all,

For those interested in using ORCID functionality in DSpace 7+, please join us for a call on Thurs. Nov. 14 where we will cover an update on the work that has been done to improve the ORCID functionality in DSpace (thanks to a grant that Lyrasis received from the ORCID Global Participation Fund, and thanks to 4Science for completing the development work). We will also discuss potential next steps toward ORCID best practices in DSpace.

ORCID DSpace update call:

If you want to attend but can't make it, email me at sheila...@lyrasis.org. Thank you!

Hi everyone,

The materials from the Nov. 14 ORCID/DSpace update call are now available. Please note that the original recording from the live call was lost due to a glitch, so the recording linked below is a re-recording of the presentation. Notes, Q&A, and chat activity from the live call can be found in the notes document.

A few important highlights to point out:

  1. We are still looking for volunteers to review the remaining pull requests related to the ORCID improvements in DSpace – please see the list of highlighted pull requests in the notes document. If you are actively or planning to review any of the pull requests, please add a note to the pull request in Github to let others know you are working on it (so we can avoid duplication of effort). Thank you!
  2. If your organization has been using DSpace version 5 or 6 and you have either used the ORCID lookup tool or CSV import functionality to get ORCID iDs into your instance of DSpace, please email orc...@lyrasis.org and let me know and/or leave a comment on this Github ticket: https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/issues/9530

 Thank you!
