Dspace 6.3 XMLUI customization on linux 20.04

Good Day

I'm editing the .css but I cannot see the changes from my dspace site.

I tried running mvn package but it shows the following error

The error message suggests to me that you are running mvn from the root user's home directory (/root) instead of the DSpace source directory.
