We are in the process of implementing DSpace at BC’s Office of the Human Rights Commissioner and we are looking for a contractor to help us figure out how we should structure our repository (taxonomy), best practices for the use of it, and develop/deliver training to staff. Here is the high-level list of services we are looking for:

·       Facilitation of a 30-minute idea generation session with department heads and summary of ideas document.

·       Research of Dspace existing training documents that can be customized to the needs of the Office of the Human Rights Commissioner.

·       Development of a customized user guide with required revisions completed and final digital document delivered.

·       Development and recommendation of filing and folder system (taxonomy) to be used, based on the facilitated session (naming conventions and locations in folders)

·       Development and delivery of staff training with all developed materials provided

We have approximately 37 staff divided across five teams (Communications, Education & Engagement, Legal, Operations, and Research & Policy. We have done an initial internal review by team on what we want to use DSpace for but need further guidance to make sure that we are using it appropriately.

Please provide a proposal including at minimum an estimate of the time needed to deliver the above services, resume(s) for the proposed consultant(s), availability to start with a timeline, and an hourly rate (Canadian dollars). The work can be delivered remotely, but our office operates on Pacific Standard Time, and so meetings with staff and training sessions must be delivered between 0830-1630 (PST).

Thank you,
