ORCID Login Issue in DSpace 8

Dear Team,

We have configured ORCID in DSpace 8. When attempting to log in via ORCID, the system redirects to the ORCID login page. After entering the ORCID email ID and password, it returns the following error:

401 Unauthorized
An error occurred during login via ORCID. Make sure you have shared your ORCID account email address with DSpace. If the error persists, contact the administrator.

Kindly assist us in resolving this issue.

The details of the orcid.cfg file are given below:

Hello Chand, 

Does the error occur during ORCID Authentication/log in to connect to DSpace or when you are trying to connect an ORCID profil from the DSpace user Researcher profile page ?

Yes, sir when we log in to DSpace using ORCID, after entering the ORCID user ID and password, we receive an error. We have already created an ORCID account and obtained the client ID and client secret. We have also configured the ORCID details in DSpace, but we are still unable to login with ORCID. Please let us know what the issue might be.

Hi Chand,

Ok, so if the authentication is the problem, I would look if you have enable the DSpace Researcher Profiles and Configurable Entities. Those 2 functionnalities are mandatory to use DSpace ORCID integration. 

The ORCID client ID and client secret are required for the ORCID-DSpace syncrhonization feature, not the authentication.
