Hello. I try to transfer items data from midas application (mysql) to dspace application (postgresql), I match columns of tables. However, I don'T have any idea about bitstreams and adding pdf or video files to dspace's items. I have these files in disk. there are many files and customer doesn't want to add manually again. Any idea?

Hello Ahmet,

there are a lot of ways to import items into DSpace see
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC5x/Ingesting+Content+and+Metadata

If midas supports has an OAI-PMH interface you can even harvest from midas
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC5x/OAI#OAI-OAI-PMH/OAI-OREHarvester(Client)

Hope this helps

For example, I export a document from dspace. I got that file

$ /dspace/bin/dspace export -t ITEM -d ~/ -i 123456789/5 -n 1
Exporting Item 4 to /home/dspace/1
Attempting to create file /home/dspace/1/dublin_core.xml

I changed some articles inside and how can i import this?

$ /dspace/bin/dspace import -a -e mye...@mail.com -c 123456789/7 -s /home/dspace/1/dublin_core.xml -m mapfile

Hello Ahmet,

this is just a file where during import the handles of the imported
items are stored. With this you can replace/delete the items.
The simple import got a --test option which will dry run the import and
you can see whether there are errors.

Hope this helps

Ahmet,

You've provided an Handle for a Community and DSpace doesn't allow you to put items directly into a Community.

Instead, you should provide the Handle for a Collection (if none exist, create one beneath the already existing Community 123456789/7).

Hi. Thanks, I read documents and watch videos. But I have no marc file, no xml, csv. They gave me Midas application but that application not work. Broken. So I reach database export file. I import that database to my computer and I match colums with dspace's database. I upload items. These items' "in_archive" values are 'f' and they have not got files "pdf, ebook, word etc". However i import article's title, authors, dateissued, rights, issn,type etc. I can see files in submission Task field. I edit items and upload documents (pdf, ebook, word etc) manually per item (one finish and click submit, then another one edit) ..

Is there a way to update 200 more items' documents (pdf, ebook, word etc) in command line  in a time ? And i need they automaticly submitted.

Thanks
Ahmet Melih
