Greetings,

I have Dspace 5.4/XMLUI up and running on https://laur.lau.edu.lb:8443/xmlui/

Robots.txt: https://laur.lau.edu.lb:8443/xmlui/robots.txt

Sitemap: https://laur.lau.edu.lb:8443/xmlui/sitemap

Sitemap: https://laur.lau.edu.lb:8443/xmlui/htmlmap

Most of our items are valid as per Google search console.

When I search one of these on Google Scholar, I got no hits or not linked to my institution PDF file. (Ex: https://laur.lau.edu.lb:8443/xmlui/handle/10725/11320)

When I run site:https://laur.lau.edu.lb I get around 4070 results while I have 6500 valid (indexed) on search console.

Awaiting please for any advice.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Omar,

I know Google Scholar says that "site:" searches work differently in Google vs. Google Scholar (as Google Scholar attempts to match related works under one entry.  So, two items in DSpace sometimes may appear under one result in Google Scholar if they are directly related).

In general though, DSpace's tips are in the documentation here: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC6x/Search+Engine+Optimization

Additionally, Google Scholar has its own inclusion guidelines: https://scholar.google.com/intl/en-US/scholar/inclusion.html  That page also includes information on how to get in touch with Google Scholar if you have questions (see their "troubleshooting" info).

Tim
