**New Deadline - October 13, 2023**
The Northeast Institutional Repository Day 2023 (NIRD23) Program Committee is pleased to issue its Call for Proposals for the fifth annual Northeast Institutional Repository Day, a free event that brings together those in the Northeast (and beyond!) who manage or are interested in institutional repositories, digital collections, and digital preservation. With the success of our recent events and in an effort to continue to make NIRD available to as many participants as possible, we are keeping NIRD23 a totally virtual event.
November 30th and December 1st, 2023
Time: 11/30 afternoon ET; 12/1 morning ET
Virtual event (Zoom link will be provided to registrants)
The NIRD23 Program Committee welcomes any proposal related to institutional repositories, especially work that can be applicable to other institutions, even those working on different platforms. Tell us what helped or hindered your work in these or other areas:
IR metadata interoperability, ingest, or maintenance;
Stewardship of digital files in various formats;
Repository migration or updates;
Finding new collections by building relationships with IR depositors or contributors;
IRs as library publishing platforms;
Improving accessibility, equity, and inclusion for IR contributors and users;
Ethical considerations in policy shaping
Proposals that are platform agnostic are particularly encouraged. The Program Committee is not accepting proposals from vendor representatives for NIRD23.
The Program Committee is requesting that proposals fall into the following formats:
Lightning Talk (10 min) - a brief, free-standing presentation, with or without slides
Presentation (20 min) - a more comprehensive, free-standing presentation or panel
Workshop - an instructor-led workshop on a topic or tool (please note: accepted workshops may be scheduled outside the stated conference time)
Important dates:
Deadline for submission: October 13, 2023
Notification of acceptance: October 31, 2023
Please submit your proposal using this form.
