file format assessment on Dspace

Hello, 

I'm the Digital Curation Librarian at WFU and we are using Dspace 6. I'm hoping to get a snapshot of all of the file types currently held in our repository. I'd like to get a sense of the spectrum of file types in the system and their possible risk levels in terms of obsolescence or need for transformation/migration. The dates of original upload would also be useful, and I know I can generally get this info from existing item-level metadata, but associating it with specific file formats would be helpful for this assessment. Ideally, I'd end up with something like the following, listed by upload year and type (obviously with correct dates and information): 

PDF: 323 items 

-- 2015: 100 items

-- 2016: 50 items

JPG: 2,300 items

-- 2015: 100 items

-- 2016: 50 items

TIFF: 1,203 items

-- 2016: 100 items

-- 2017: 50 items

MOV: 43 items 

-- 2009: 100 items

-- 2011: 50 items

Thoughts about compiling this data or most efficient ways to do a file format snapshot?
