Hello,

We are currently using DSpace as part of our doctoral thesis submission process in University College Cork, Ireland. Students upload their final e-thesis in DSpace, a supervisor reviews, approves and sends it to the Graduate Studies Office who approve and send to the Library for final archiving. There is a parallel process for hard bound theses which are submitted to our Graduate Studies Office along with accompanying forms.

UCC has recently approved a changeover to an entirely electronic process for submission of examination versions of theses and final theses. I am interested to make contact with any repository administrators who may be using DSpace at their institution to manage the submission, archiving and subsequent control of access to e-theses. From a quick survey of university and library web sites, it seems a lot of institutions manage the submission of and access to e-theses outside of DSpace.

If you are using DSpace and have some time to spare, I would be grateful of the opportunity to discuss further with you b.he...@ucc.ie

Best regards,
Breeda
