Batch Import to Remote Server

Hi,

I'm quite new to using DSpace. Well, I created a DSpace repository locally on my machine. Now I was provided a remote DSPace instance and I have to upload my results there. I already created all necessary communities, collections and metadata fields. For uploading my results I created a zip file with SAFBuilder and want to upload it as a batch import. Now my question: do I have to use ssh for that? I was given an administrator account. Starting that remote DSpace instance would mean, the respective server is running automatically? What about the server path?

Has anyone maybe something like a step-by-step approach for me?

You can load a SAF batch through the GUI. You'll need to login to
DSpace using a DSpace administrator account, which may (should!) be
different from the system administrator account. You should then see
an "Administrative" block in the sidebar, and in that block will be a
"batch import (Zip)" link.

You could use 'scp' to copy the Zip archive to the server, connect to
the server using 'ssh', and use the command-line loader ('bin/dspace
import') if you prefer that. You'd still need credentials for a DSpace
administrator.

(I am getting this from the DSpace 6.3 XMLUI. It is usually best to
mention which version of DSpace and whether you are using XMLUI or
JSPUI.)

Thanks a lot! I used the SAF Builder, and the upload was successful. But another problem occurred: I can't see that data! All handles (those of the communities and the items) start with 123456789/

How can I change that?
