Bulk Import menu option for Community-Level Admins

It appears that the Bulk Import menu option is only available for members of the Administrator group; not for administrators of a single community. Is there a way to configure a user's permissions so that they have access to this option, limited to the communities they administer? Or, it on anyone's development radar to eventually add more granularity so that something like this can be accomplished?

Hi Amy,

At this time, unfortunately any administrative tools that kick off a "process" are restricted to Administrators only. This includes all import/export scripts.

That said, there is some early work to change this behavior so that Community/Collection Admins can also start some types of processes. That work is related to these two tickets: https://github.com/DSpace/RestContract/issues/219 and https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/issues/8764

I'm not yet sure whether this will be in the 7.6 release (due in June) or not...currently though work has begun and we'll see how far it progresses in the coming weeks.
