Where's the best place to learn about fine-tuning user/group access to communities, collections, and items in DSpace?

For instance, if you want all community names & intro texts listed on the home page for all users, including anonymous users, but want more granular control over which subcommunities,  collections, and items are browsable by the public, what are some good resources to learn about the best way to achieve the desired result?

I'm not finding much detail at https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x, but I wonder if certain basic foundational topics like this are covered elsewhere or in earlier documentation and I'm not using the right search methods.

Hi Amy,

Some of the "fundamentals" are in the "Learning DSpace" area of the documentation: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Learning+DSpace   However, that area is a work in progress, and DCAT (DSpace Community Advisory Team) is working on enhancing it little by little.   It's a volunteer driven effort though, so I know they are always looking for help from others as the learn their own tips/tricks.

DCAT meetings themselves also can be a good place to ask for advice from other repository managers... they meet about once a month: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/cmtygp/DCAT+Meeting+Notes

These mailing lists are also a great resource to ask questions & learn.

Tim
