Hello,
I want to attach a default value for a metadata field so that if it is not filled in the default is set. I have looked at the input form documentation and I can not find any information of how to do it.

Thanks

Hi Nason,

Similar to DSpace 6.x (and earlier releases), default values can currently only be defined Collection by Collection by using the "Template Item" option.  This option lets you default default values that *all future Items* will receive when submitted to that specific Collection.  Documentation can be found at https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Edit+Collection#EditCollection-TemplateItem

Hi, just write the first few letters. For example write "dc.cont" you will see the options starting with dc.cont...
