The American Chemical Society is coming to NUS and NTU to give talks and workshops on publishing, writing a proposal, and career development.

We probably won't be experts from attending a one-day event, but it's probably useful to hear tips from these folks.

Dear Alvin Tan,

The ACS on Campus  <http://acsoncampus.acs.org> team would like to invite you to participate in upcoming American Chemical Society events taking place at NTU and NUS in Singapore on April 8th and 9th.

ACS on Campus is the society's free outreach program dedicated to helping students, post-docs, and faculty members prepare for the professional hurdles they face including: getting published, finding a job, using research tools like SciFinder, and writing grant proposals. The agenda for the ACS on Campus at NTU (Tuesday April 8) http://acsoncampus.acs.org/events/nanyang-technological-university-04-07-2014/ and NUS (Wednesday April 9) http://acsoncampus.acs.org/events/the-national-university-of-singapore-04-10-2014/#eventInfoTab-tab  are at the ACS on Campus website (acsoncampus.acs.org) and hyperlinked above. We hope you'll encourage your colleagues and students to attend. NOTE: The event at NUS is only open to NUS faculty and students.

Please register for NTU at http://acsoncampus.acs.org/events/nanyang-technological-university-04-07-2014/ and for NUS at https://myaces.nus.edu.sg/CoE/ViewEvent?actionParam=VIEWEVENT&eventID=62219

Speakers include Associate Editors Lyndon Emsley of the Journal of the American Chemical Society, Andrew Wee of ACS Nano and Jim Yang Lee of Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research. ACS representatives from the Petroleum Research Fund and ACS Careers (Drs. Burt Lee and David Harwell, respectively) will also be in attendance giving talks on how to write grant proposals and resumes.

Please see the agenda for NTU here http://acsoncampus.acs.org/events/nanyang-technological-university-04-07-2014/#agenda-tab and the agenda for NUS here http://acsoncampus.acs.org/events/the-national-university-of-singapore-04-10-2014/#agenda-tab and I hope that you’ll join us in Singapore.  Please send any questions my way.

Best wishes,
Sara Rouhi
