Aha, this other draft of the Committee page was hiding in an email thread with the old board!

Current version is here: https://www.davissquarenc.org/committees

I like Zia's graphical flourishes (quoted below). Kendra's draft also does a trim of extraneous information and adds last names and perhaps other improvements I'm not remembering. I'm happy taking Kendra's content and with any of these visual styles.

The big question I have is how the Outreach Committee would like to be listed:

  • Where should the info about who is working on what or who is the historical expert on what go? I could append it to the May 2026 DSNC Outreach Report for historical reference. Or I think someone suggested there be a working document with this info and active projects, if the leaders of the Outreach Committee would use such a thing?
  • I assume Elaine should be listed as Chair, Marilyn as Vice Chair.
  • I assume we would want to add dsnc-web under the Outreach Committee. Does the Web Maintainer in Chief wish to be listed by name?

I have added items to the next board meeting agenda for getting email addresses for the remaining committees and figuring out a regular pattern of meeting. We should probably be only adding calendar events for those and not trying to constantly update the committee page, or we will forget half the time.

Elaine,

I think you are right it makes less sense to have unofficial groups on the Contact page, but I think it does make sense to have active DSNC committee information there.

My thoughts were not every committee is associated with exactly one project, and not every project has an associated committee.  For instance, I don't think it is intuitive to go to Projects & Priorities to find the point of contact for the Election Committee, and the various street improvement projects could end up under the purview of one committee (since designs for long-term Elm St. designs frequently consider how they will mesh with Dover Plaza and Community Path improvements).

Regardless of where it goes, removing the unofficial groups section and adding information from the spreadsheet Zev sent me, the content would be:

Hi Chris,

Thanks for recirculating Kendra's committee website suggestions. I made some edits in her Google Doc using tracked changes. I held off on merging in Zachary's suggestions below, since you'd offered to. But I think a combination of both would be terrific. I also think it is important that the page be inviting/welcoming for DSNC members to join us in this work, rather than just factual about who is doing what so far. Let's spread this work out among more people!

Thanks,
Louisa
