Banner for tabling

I volunteered to make a banner for when we table. I really like handmade things and am pretty crafty, but my product will not be perfect. I was thinking of using either paint, embroidery, or a combination, to make something of the size & shape of the green Starbucks item depicted below. It can be used on large or small tables. I noticed that printed banners have come way down in price. Depending on options it seems easy to get one for under $100. If the preference is for something more 'official' looking I will understand. Let me know if I should proceed. Also, feel free to recommend colors or whatever. Should I wait till there is a logo? Do you want to see a design before I get going? Also, it does not need to be our banner forever. No worries if only used temporarily. 

Only thoughts I have so far is maybe something with a red brick design border. I will weight the top and bottom edges so it is not easily blow.

I think a table cloth is a great idea! We're going to be working on the branding soon, so as soon as that's finalized, this would be fantastic.
