Just to follow up on the poll scheduling conversation, the election committee is meeting on Tuesday 3/31 and I'm hoping we can figure out a schedule then.  I'll send out an agenda in the next day or two, but this is definitely a thing we'll be sorting out.

The general window Emily suggests seems right to me: the two weeks before the Monday election.  Beyond that, let's hammer out the details of dates and times next week.

Two reasons I'd like to wait until after the Monday meeting to set a firm schedule: (1) I want to see if we pass the bylaw amendments that allow us to use OpaVote because that may affect how many polling times we want to make available, and (2) I want see if we can get some more poll worker volunteers at the meeting which might also affect our scheduling decisions.

Let's stick with the library then on 4/27 - no reason to complicate matters!

Monday, 4/27, 3:30-5:30 either at the church where the meeting starts at 6 or at the library.

FYI, the Somerville Homeless Coalition has their Monday Night Meal in the dining room where we normally have our meeting, from 4:30-5:30pm, and they also use the attached kitchen. You'd have to check with the church to see if there would be room in the hallway (or another room?) for a polling station, given fire code and all, but we wouldn't be able to put a polling station in the dining room.

We also haven't yet confirmed the location for the April meeting; The Rockwell isn't available, so it might be at the church but could end up somewhere else.

Waiting til next week sounds okay to me.

See you Monday at the general meeting,

Hala,

Thanks for putting this together.  I just added a few suggestions.

Do other folks on the committee have ideas about what this code of conduct should cover, besides limits on where people can campaign while the polls are open?

--Rebecca

P.S.  Hala I heard you had some challenges formatting this to upload to the shared drive.  I'm happy to find a time to talk to see if we can figure out what the issue is so we can post it.

Where? Was there supposed to be an attachment or a link?

By the way, it's probably best not to refer to the polling place rules
as a "code of conduct", to avoid confusion with DSNC's official Code of
Conduct:

Please correct if I am mistaken, but wasn't the code of conduct already officially adopted by the DSNC at the last meeting? It says this at the bottom of the doc:
Adopted 23 February 2026.

Yes. Rebecca was not referring to that document. Rebecca was
referring to a different draft document concerning rules for candidates
campaigning near polling places. Unfortunately it was confusingly also
called a "code of conduct". I suggest we call them Campaigning Rules,
to avoid such confusion.

Thanks,
David
