Dear Neighbors,

Have you been meaning to clean out your closet? Or are you new to the area and looking for homegoods?

The DSNC and the City of Somerville invite you to the inaugural Davis Square Community Yard Sale on September 27th. Sell from your yard, driveway, or sidewalk, or grab a table in Statue Park if you don't have outdoor space. It is free to join and you keep 100% of the earnings! Please register to participate. Hopefully by marketing the sale together, we can attract more foot traffic. Details:

  • YARD SALE DATE: Sunday, September 27th. (Rain date: October 4th.)
  • TIMING: Sale will run from 1-5 PM, with an hour before/afterwards for set-up/ cleanup.
  • SALE LOCATIONS: Sellers can host sales in front of their homes -- in their yard, driveway, or sidewalk (without blocking pedestrians). But if you do not have outdoor space, you can hold your sale at a table in Statue Park. (Tables must be reserved by 9/21.)
  • ELIGIBILITY: Sellers must live within DSNC neighborhood boundaries, marked in red on this map.
  • PROCEEDS: You keep all proceeds from your sale, but donations to DSNC are welcome!
  • SELLER SIGN-UP: https://bit.ly/4hduuLM

Best,
Louisa & DSNC Program Committee

It happens! I have had to straight up delete public posts with likes & everything just to fix something minor.

Is it possible to switch the date to Saturday instead? It’s still a week away but Saturday is looking better than Sunday weather wise.

Thanks you,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Like you, I am watching the weather closely and am rather frustrated. On the event permit application we intentionally selected an event date and rain date a week apart from each other in hopes of finding a beautiful fall day. It took over a month for the city to approve our permit request. So I don't think we can easily move this. But I will touch base with city hall to see what they say. That said, anyone selling at their own house can do whatever they want. My permit issues are really just focused on the Statue Park segment of the yard sale.

Thanks,
Louisa
