Below is a little background shared by the PHIP president regarding this day!

The term "Parrothead" originated on June 28, 1985, when Timothy B. Schmit, a former member of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band, coined the phrase at a concert in Cincinnati, Ohio. Schmit noticed that many of Buffett's fans were wearing tropical clothing and parrots on their heads, and jokingly called them all "Parrotheads". Parrot Heads are fans of Buffett's beach/rock/folk music, and are known for knowing all the words to his songs and jokes.

Let's raise a margarita to all of our crazy Parrothead friends and to Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefers for all the years of phun
