MOTM 2024: I Have Found Me A Home
MOTM 2024 “I Have Found Me a Home” Staggered Registration opens March 6th at 1PM Eastern.
Registration for the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Minds at The Hangout in Gulf Shores, Alabama opens Wednesday, March 6 at 1pm Eastern Time. We know y’all are properly excited to get on board, but for most people, there is no need to hurry! Please remain calm.
No Need to Rush the Gate!
We will be staggering registration to minimize the risk of server crashes. From 1-4 pm, registrations will be limited to VIP Lodging packages. If you are not in the market for a VIP lodging package, sit back and relax, and wait until Happy Hour. At 4pm, you can register with a cocktail in your hand!
The ONLY reason you might need to be sitting at your keyboard at 1 pm with your typing fingers greased and twitching with anticipation is if your heart is set on getting one of the limited VIP Room Bundles described below, which may be in high demand because of their proximity to The Hangout. For the rest of us, there are several other hotels with discounted rooms for MOTM attendees, and lots of campers and RVers are already registered at local parks. AND, as many Parrot Heads have already discovered, there is a great deal of lodging available.
The MOTM.Rocks website will go live on Tuesday afternoon. This gives everyone time to check out the site and consider registration and lodging options. You can find all this information at www.motm.rocks.Stay tuned for details and full musical lineup in the weeks to come, including details about shows at the FloraBama and LuLu’s. And after feedback regarding our shuttle service in the Gulf Shores debut last year, we have some improvements still in the works, with announcements to come as our crack staff of transportation specialists, diesel mechanics and municipal engineers pool their talents to bring you the best available solution to your Gulf Shores transportation hopes and dreams.

Stay in Gulf Shores for a while! Although the official event at the Hangout runs from Thursday through Saturday, there will be other MOTM events as early as Tuesday evening and lasting through Sunday evening, so by all means, make a Monday-to-Monday week of it, and be there for all the fun!So, relax. If you're not in the market for a VIP room bundle, have a snack and a cocktail, and wait a couple of hours to log in!

The Coral Reefers Are Coming Home!
This year’s theme is all about home. Although Jimmy was born next door in Mississippi, the Gulf Coast of Alabama was his childhood home and the place where the music was born, and a place that Jimmy remained connected to throughout his life. It’s only right that his friends and most of his bandmates in the Coral Reefers will be making the pilgrimage home with us this year, and we look forward not only to their music but also to their stories, memories and reflections on the man in what will surely be an emotional shared celebration and a singular and exclusive experience for all Parrot Heads in attendance.
The full Reefer lineup is still to come. As you can imagine, a few are wrestling with health issues and/or inching toward retirement, but the band will include favorites:
Mac McAnally, Peter Mayer, Nadirah Shakoor, Doyle Grisham, Jim Mayer, Tina Gullickson, Roger Guth, Eric Darken, and….
Making their MOTM debut in 2024 is the Yachtley Crew, a seven-piece So Cal band who burst onto the club scene in 2017 selling out countless local venues before starting a nationwide Yacht Rock craze. The band set sail on their “Full Steam Ahead Tour” with their new EP, Seas The Day via Jimmy Buffett’s Mailboat Records.
“Seas the Day is a love letter to the fans who have made this all possible, and a dream come true to be on the Mailboat Records roster, alongside their incredible artists.”
For those uninitiated, Yacht Rock encapsulates the revival of soft rock and Top 40 hits from the late ‘70s to the early ‘80s, which has become a nationwide phenomenon, inspiring fans to dress the part and sing along. The Yachtley Crew have appeared performed on countless morning television and radio shows throughout the country, have been featured on Fox News nationally and performed on SiriusXM’s Yacht Rock Radio “Yacht Rock 311” show as the first ever Yacht Rock band to perform live at the station.
The nautical-suited and captain’s-hat-clad Yachtley Crew will have us all up dancing and singing along. Their MOTM appearance promises to be one of the biggest, funnest, most nostalgic parties in Parrot Head history, so grab your first mate and put on your sailor hat, because all hands will be on deck for this cruise through the music of the 70s and 80s.

VIP REGISTRATION OPTIONS
Option 1 – VIP Registration
MOTM General Registration + VIP Registration – This fee is $529 and will include all the VIP benefits listed below.

- Expedited and early on-site registration and VIP credential/wristband.
- Event t-shirt included
- Exclusive access to the VIP roof-top pool and lounging area overlooking the beach and The Hangout. With occasional live music and the best view of the sunset in town you may not want to leave.
- Exclusive Sunset Happy Hour hor d’oeuvres on the roof-top pool deck.
- Designated VIP area in The Hangout overlooking the Courtyard and Stages. This space is limited.
Option 1 is the a la carte VIP experience for MOTM attendees who either are not staying in VIP lodging or who are staying in a VIP lodging purchased by another attendee. If you are sharing a room with someone who purchased the VIP room package, and you’d like the same VIP benefits, you MUST select VIP option 1 when registering.
Option 2 – The VIP Room Bundle
MOTM VIP Registration + 4 Nights exclusive lodging locations – This fee varies depending on which location & room type you select; however, the prices range from $1,116.12 for a 1-bedroom unit to $6,516.72 for multi-room units. See below for a complete listing of the seven room types and package prices.

Option 2 is the VIP Premium Room Package, which includes a four-night stay at one of the 3 exclusive VIP lodging locations for Wednesday – Saturday nights. You may reserve up to four ADDITIONAL nights at the PHIP discounted rate – beginning as early as Sunday, October 22 and as late as a Monday, October 30 departure. There are seven room-type options included in Option 2 with prices ranging from $1,116.12 for a 1-bedroom unit to $6,516.72 for multi-room units. All units come equip with a full kitchen. This VIP room package includes ONE VIP registration, so any guests staying in your room will need to register for MOTM on their own and will need to select Option 1 if they also want the VIP benefits.
When buying a VIP Premium Room Package, you will pay for the entire package at the time of purchase, as opposed to merely reserving a room with a deposit.
While both the General and VIP registrations are non-refundable, the balance of your VIP package – that associated with the room reservation – remains fully refundable up until September 1, 2024.
September 2 – Oct. 1, 2024:
- Room reservations can be transferred to another attendee but cannot be refunded.
- Additional room nights can be added.
No changes including additional room nights or reservation transfers can be done after Oct. 1, 2024
Please note that MOTM can only reserve you a room type and location. Rooms are assigned closer to the event. In addition, these room reservations will be handled through MOTM rather than the locations, so any questions or changes will need to be addressed by MOTM staff rather than location staff.
NOTE: The VIP Room Package items above include only one registration for the event. Any additional guests staying in that room must register separately for MOTM (either as a general attendee or as a VIP attendee).
NOTE: When selecting to purchase a VIP Registration the registrant will be prompted to indicate whether or not they will be staying in a room of a VIP Room Package as a guest. This is done for our tracking purposes.
NOTE: Full-payment for all VIP Room Packages is required at the time of this registration.
