3d printer members (and those interested): Indx @ A515!

The CoreOne Indx is ready for member use! (and also a new coreone conversion is up and running!)

Using the Indx printer requires training and has an additional $10 tool fee which can be found on the website under 3d Printer Indx Tool Fee. This is a separate fee and only applies if you're using the Indx. The general 3d printer tool fee and training still covers the other printers.

Why does this printer have a fee? The Indx toolheads are more fragile than parts in the other printers. The hardware is experimental. There are still bugs in the firmware. There is literature that the nozzles can print abrasive materials, but actually they cannot. Just to mention a few things.

Why do I need training when I already had training on the other printers? Not all common filaments are supported yet. The Indx is on loan to us from a member. The toolheads have areas which cannot be touched. Filament loading is slightly different. Troubleshooting is completely different for the Indx. Again, just to name a few things. The training will not take long and will ensure the new printer isn't damaged.

What's so special about the printer? This is the first toolchanger type of printer at the makerspace. This means it is easier, faster, and less wasteful when switching between different filaments. For example, the prior filament changer -- the MMU -- would never be able to reliably support flexible filaments but eventually the Indx should be able to mix all different types of plastics.

How do I sign up? Tool fees are paid through the website like any other tool fee, and you can request training through the tools email like normal.
