It is with some sadness that I've finally decided to admit defeat and get rid of my 2002 Mazda Miata that Nabil and I converted to electric drive.  I'm posting it here to the makerspace first to see if anyone is interested because while it wasn't directly a makerspace project it was frequently around at the makerspace back when I was daily driving it.  Also before anyone asks, yes Dave is aware and approved this post.

The EV conversion consists of an Evenetics Soliton One and a Warp 9 series DC motor with 79 CALB 100Ah LiFePo4 batteries.  The original specs were a ~25kWh battery pack with mechanical output in the ballpark of 225Hp (I've got a dyno chart somewhere but napkin math is a 250V pack pushing 1000A).  The primary reason that I stopped driving it was because I could never keep a reliable vacuum system for the brakes.  Unfortunately it has been sitting for almost 10 years so I have no idea what the condition of it is.

It may have more value to be parted out or used for a different project.  It has a lightly used Flying Miata Stage 1 Clutch / Flywheel kit.  It has upgraded V-Maxx coilover suspension.  It was originally an SE model so it has the original 6 speed manual transmission and torsen limited slip differential as well as the special SE wheels (although they are in rough shape).  I plan on stripping the soft top off for my other miata.  It is very plausible to either strip and sell the parts or to be a platform for a different powertrain swap.

The attached photos are from many years ago just after I got it fancier wheels (that are now on my other miata the wheels it has now can be seen on the ground), its a little dustier now.  The front right side was in an accident before I purchased the car.

If you are interested it would need to be trailered away.  I would entertain any offers.  If you just want to chat about the build I'd be happy to reminisce about the silly shenanigans I got up to in the past.
