Does anyone know if the giant rack mount CC/CV power supply that I bought back when we were doing powerwheels is still in the electronics room?  Also does anyone know if the electronic load is still around?  I got a lithium battery that I want to characterize and I need to be able to move some current.

Hi, Ray!
Please help me and perhaps others understand what is meant by "characterize" a battery.
As always, I appreciate the 515 attitude of sharing the knowledge!

Actually I need to reset the bms in the battery and the manufacturer said that it needs to be charged and discharged. Generally when I say characterize a battery I mean put it through some charge and discharge cycles in an attempt to measure the capacity. Basically noting how long it takes to charge or discharge.

I don't recall if we still have the power supply. I'm pretty sure we don't have the big electronic load. I'll take a look around tomorrow night. If we find it, maybe we can roast some marshmallows.

I hope the space still has the power supply.  I bought it for powerwheels and I'm pretty sure I don't have it.  If the space doesn't want it I'd take it back.  If the space doesn't have the big power supply, does it have a different CC/CV power supply, preferable able to do more than 10A.

I've got the big non electronic load, I just rewired it to be more reasonable for a 12V battery.  The electronic load I think the space has is similar to this: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806780072807.html  While you are digging around in the electronics lab if you could also look for the lithium battery charger.  I think it was something like this https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256810292355557.html  A plan would be to shuffle charge between my two batteries using that.

I think I'll probably be down at the space on Friday to play with batteries.

Yeah that's the big toaster / load I was thinking of.

I'll let you know if I locate the power supply. I recall it's like a 19" rack mount affair, right?

Yeah, my recollection is the power supply is about a 2u rack mount size. It's heavy and annoying but functional. The last I remember seeing it was wedged under the table in the electronics room. It isn't too bad to find a place to store it but keeping it out ready for use takes up a lot of space.

The only things I KNOW we ditched were the pile of random batteries and the sketchy tab welder.
