Hello dear Frank,

In the dHCP data section available on the Fibre Data Hub, the following is stated:

  1. reconstruction

This was done using DSI Studio GUI. Click on [Step T2 Reconstruction] and select all SRC files.

[Step T2a] [Edit] [Open] to load mask

    [Edit] [Crop Background]

    [Run Reconstruction]

My question is whether the SRC files related to the dHCP data on the Fibre Data Hub are files on which the steps 'to load mask' and 'Crop Background' have already been applied, and then these modified SRC files were saved and placed on the Fibre Data Hub?

Or, are the SRC files available on the Fibre Data Hub simply the result of the NIFTI to SRC stage, and 'load mask' and 'Crop Background' have not been applied to them yet?

Sincerely,
Maryam Shapourjani

I am not sure and you may just open one and check it.

Hello dear Frank,

I checked the src file corresponding to the dHCP data available in the Fiber Data Hub, and the load mask and crop background operations were already performed.
Then, I performed reconstruction on the src file available in the Fiber Data Hub.
The issue is that when I open the fib file that I obtained from the reconstruction step in the subsequent step (i.e., the tractography step), and perform tractography (for example, for the AF tract), the results for various metric statistics like tract count and curl, etc., are different from when I directly open the fib file available in the Fiber Data Hub in the tractography step and perform tractography.
I wanted to know what the reason for this is?
Even when I check metrics like AD and MD during the reconstruction step, the various metrics obtained in the statistics during the tractography step are still different.
What is the reason for these differences?
Are such differences expected?

Sincerely,
Maryam Shapourjani

It could be due to differences in any of the processing steps.

Sorry I have no clue, given the limited information here. Any steps
that change the MRI values will cause a difference in tensor
estimations.

Best regards,
Frank
