How to handle big data of 1000x1000x1000 voxels?

I am doing DTI-like analysis of optical imaging data with DSI Studio. I have met the issue of  data size. 

During image preprocessing, I need to prepare data with Matlab. But the required version (-v4) of DSI Studio limits the size of single data file (<2 GB). So far, I cannot handle the volume data of 1000x1000x1000 voxels.

Please give me some advice based on DSI Studio or other DTI processing tools.

Hi Shangbin,

DSI Studio does not limit the size, but MATLAB does (DSI Studio
can read/write a 4gb v4 mat file, but MATLAB cannot). I am sorry that
there is no workaround here, and you may need to process the raw image
in DSI Studio without using MATLAB.
