Hi Frank,

I hope you have been keeping well. I contacted you a few years ago to help me figure out helix angle (HA) maps for cardiac DTI, thank you for everything. I am revising a paper using DSI studio, so you should see that coming out in a few months.

I'm now working on in vivo cardiac DTI, with a 7T Bruker scanner using a custom DTI sequence I didn't personally develop. Since it's not in Bruker's standard format, I'm using Dipy to create the MD, FA and HA maps. HA maps recon properly sometimes when I swap the x-y diffusion directions during post-processing (like you mention here) and other times HA maps recon fine without swapping. These will be in separate studies, so several imaging parameters will change, like Image orientation. Do you know which metadata parameters in particular tells you to switch the b vector components? Finally, will FA and MD be affected by this swap? I can send you the data if that helps.

Thank you,

Moses

FA and MD are not affected by btable swap so you should be good.

I don't know which parameters are related to the swap. What I always did was to check all combinations using the check b table function and see which is the best solution.

Best
Frank
