Hey, Frank!

Thanks so much for sharing the exar and other details for your recommended 258-direction grid sampling scheme! We'd like to use the sequence for an upcoming study, but the scanner is a Skyra. Do you by chance have the exar for a Skyra that you could share with me?

Thanks so much!
Hannah

I am sorry I don't have it.

I can help checking the results or parameters you acquired to see if they are good.

Best
Frank

I'll just chip in here for the record as Iam working over many scanners at the moment - I have had a lot of luck importing across Prismas, Skyras and even Vidas - some tweaking is required (so getting Frank to double check is handy) but you may be surprised at how little you need to change. Unfortunately I don't have Frank's  258 grid file to share but I work with many similar sets of grids.

Beware the max b-value with the different gradient coil strengths though - you may get very little signal on a Skyra at b=4000, 3000 and even 2500.

Thanks Andre for chipping in!
Wish I had more experience in other scanners.

Frank,

We set up the grid-258 sequence on our skyra, and we've collected some data using that protocol. If you're still willing/able to check the parameters to make sure it looks okay, that would be greatly appreciated. I have six scans (but you'd only need to check as many as you see fit) that I can share with you, but I currently have limited internet access, and it would take a very long time for me to upload it to your Dropbox folder. Can I share a link to the data with you via email or some other way that isn't public?

Thanks so much!

Sure. Feel free to share as you see fit.

Hello! The VA we perform scans at for some our studies is upgrading their scanner from a Siemens Skyra to a Vida. Would it be best to convert our grid-258 protocol on our own, or do you have an existing .exar file for the Vida that would work better?

Thanks!

Hi Hannah,

I don’t have a ready-made .exar file for the Vida, but I’ve helped
other groups transition from Skyra to Vida, and it’s usually not a big
challenge.

In most cases, converting the grid-258 protocol directly on your end
works well. The main parameters (b-values, directions, resolution,
timing) can be matched fairly closely, and only minor adjustments are
typically needed depending on gradient performance and sequence
version.

Best,
Frank

Okay, thanks! The transition will happen over the Summer. Can I send you some data we collect from it after it's set up for a QC?
