Dear Prof. Yeh,

Thank you for your excellent DSI-Studio software. Regarding to the “individual connectometry analysis” modular, we have several questions seeking for your help. First, we tried to compare one single patient to a local template which was reconstructed based on 8 normal contrasts. However, when the “<%” was selected as the tracking index, no SDF signal could be found at the region window at all, no matter which value we chose, and this prevented us to do further analysis. Second, in this individual connectometry analysis modular, when the “QA” index or the “NQA” index was selected, what is the meaning of the tracking results? Does it mean the “QA” or “NQA” difference between the patient and the normal controls? Third, when we compare a local template constituted of 8 patients(study FIB) with a local template of 8 normal contrasts(Base line FIB), the software quitted without warning. Could you please tell us how to compare a group of patients with a group of normal contrasts, as the “group connectometry analysis” modular seems to contain only choices of “longitudinal analysis” and “multiple regression” choice.

Many thanks!

Yours sincerely,

Peng-Hu Wei

Hi Penghu,

Could you upload a pair of sample of your fib files using the link provided in the Discussion forum for me to troubleshoot?

Best regards
Frank

Dear Prof. Yeh,

Thank for your kind help, we uploaded three files right now. One baseline file, which contains 8 normal contrasts, while the study file contains 8 patients, and the third file is the skeleton file we used this time. Both of the baseline and the study files were generated using “create a connectometry database”. If these three files were imported into the “individual connectometry analysis”, the system quitted directly. However, if we compare the patients and the normal controls using the odf file generated from “Create template/skeleton”, the software would run normally. We just wondering could we compare the group difference using the file of connectometry database? Still, during the fiber tracking process under the individual connectometry analysis”modular, what is the meaning of “QA” index, does it mean the QA difference between the patient and the controls, or just QA of the controls or the patient?

Yours sincerely,

Peng-Hu Wei

Hi Peng-Hu,

I am fixing this bug, and will make sure DSI Studio works in your case.

Once an update is available (in one or tw oweeks), I will let you know.

Best regards,
Frank

Hi Peng-Hu,

It seems that the data were created using an older version of DSI Studio. Could you provide the version information (date) shown in your DSI Studio?

Frank

Hi Peng-Hu,

You can create a database containing all subjects to do the group comparison, 8 control and the 8 patients altogether. Then use “multiple regression” choice to compare the group difference with sex and /or age added as the covariates. You may follow the instruction at http://dsi-studio.labsolver.org/Manual/diffusion-mri-connectometry

If there is anything unclear, I will fix the document and/or DSI Studio right away.

Please feel free to contact me if there is any issue using this function.

If you want to use individual connectometry, then there is no need to create a connectometry db. You can compare individual FIB file (not the database file) to a template.

Best regards,
Frank
