Hello Dr. Yeh,

I am a beginner in using DSI studio so apologies if some of the questions are trivial. I am trying to visualize the ODF at 1 diffusion voxel in DSI studio, but was confused by a couple of points. I wanted to view the x y and z axes for reference but there does not seem a way to do that in the viewer and it is a bit hard to infer from the ODF colors (I have the color option on Dir, when I choose blue or red the ODF disappears for some reason), is there an easier way to do this? I also don't have an underlying anatomical image. Also I am a bit confused by the parameter shape in the ODF rendering options, what 1st 2nd and original mean?

Thank you in advance.

I understand you're looking to view a single ODF at a specific voxel. Currently, this can be a bit challenging directly within DSI Studio's tracking interface.

For a more detailed visualization, a common approach many researchers find helpful is to extract the DWI signals and convert them to ODFs using a diffusion model in external tools like Matlab or Python. This method often allows for a much richer and more detailed presentation and rendering of the ODFs.

Best regards,
Frank
