Hello all,

I had some peculiar results when trying to do some group connectometry analysis and wanted to get folks thoughts regarding what I might be doing incorrectly, or other ways to solve the problem. In brief, the DWI scans we are analyzing have variable coverage for the cerebellum, so it seemed best to exclude that portion of the brain.

To those ends, I ran the following syntax (increasing the permutations per the "Group connectometry analysis >> Study region (Optional)" DSI-studio tutorial)--
/Applications/dsi_studio.app/Contents/MacOS/dsi_studio --action=cnt --source=connectometry.qa.db.fib.gz --demo=APQ_combined_coded.csv --variable_list=0,1,2,3,4,5,6 --voi=6 --permutation=8000 --fdr_threshold=2.5 --length_threshold=20 --t_threshold=2.5 --normalized_qa=1 --tip=4 --ter=FreeSurferSeg:Left-Cerebellum-White-Matter --ter2=FreeSurferSeg:Right-Cerebellum-White-Matter

The syntax runs fine, but I get results in the cerebellum, see this PNG--

Should I be using some other type of syntax?
If I wanted to just look at the brain minus the cerebellum, should I use different ROI or ROA flags, etc instead?
Any thoughts are much appreciated!

Thanks much,
Jamie.

Hi Jamie,

This is an important issue. I am going to build a function to exclude the cerebellum and get back to you soon.

Best,
Frank

You may update DSI Studio and add --exclude_cb=1 to see if it works for you.
Best,
Frank

Oh perfect, many (many) thanks for this help!
I'm test-driving this now (and will report back).

Many thanks again!
